The past 20 years has seen the dating scene change over and over again. Traditional methods of finding a date were to rely on friends to play matchmaker, attend the bar scene, or go to different social events and parties.

Today, the Internet has made its way into the world of romance. Whether we like it or not, the internet has changed our lives especially in the way we date and meet people.

Searching for love on the Internet means saving money and time. All you have to do is go to a dating site, sign up, fill out a bio and start reviewing the prospective candidates. However, along with this convenience also comes some risk. Online dating does take away the fun of witty banter as well as flirting. You also have to worry about the difference between the prospective candidates photo and live self! Aahhhh what if they don't match?

You also elimante the opportunity to read body language, take in their appearance, view their grooming standards and guage your own gut feeling about them.

But, their are some advantages to dating online, especially with a reputable online dating services. You have some assurance that what you see is really what you are getting. Many of these reputable dating services have built up their repuation over the years to a point where major TV networks allow them to advertise.

OH man...how do I get a date?

Well, the dating game isn't easy! Today it seems like there is just too much involved with meeting someone...looks, wealth, occupation, status etc! Whatever happened to just seeing someone you were attracted to and asking them on a date.

Now a days, you can log on to some website that promises you a mate match after listing a bunch of information about yourself, interests etc. But does it really work? How many dates do you have to go on, trying to meet that one person who you have chemistry with? For me it was too many!

I finally met someone, dated them, fell in love and now am married! You can too...here is a list of some of the things I did to find the love of my life! I like to call them:

My Top 10 Affirmations for finding the love of my life!

1. I got up every morning, looked at myself in the mirror and realized that I had something to offer! Me..a great guy!

2. Think positive...no matter what happens! There really is someone out there for everyone!

3. Get out there...put yourself out there and don't be afraid! If you don't expose yourself to new people and new situations, then how are you going to meet the love of your life?

4. Find some friends and go hang out somewhere...mall, sports field, a park, coffee shop, sports bar...whatever interests you. You need a venue to see different people and strike up a conversation.

5. Conversation...this is KEY...you have to talk to people...the more the better...how else are you going to find the right fit with someone?

6. Be yourself. People like people who are Genuine! Don't come off as FALSE!

7. Confidence...you have something special and worthwhile to offer to someone else...so get out there and do it.

8. Clean up....when you go to purchase something...do you immediately always buy used, discheveled, old stuff? Most likely not...so why are you looking that way. Go out and buy new clothes, change the hairstyle, get the teeth done...etc...LOOK GOOD!!! After all, you are trying to attract a mate right???

9. Be honest...with yourself and others. The truth is powerful. Tell it. Don't lie.

10. Lastly, DON'T GIVE UP!!! Good things come to those who wait! Rome wasn't built in a day....and all those other cliches....really do work!
